Michael has worked as a professional photographer since 1981. His career began as a newspaper photographer, followed by many years as a magazine and corporate photographer. “Colorado’s Centennial Farms and Ranches” was his first book, published in 1994, while he was living in Denver. He photographed five books for National Geographic in the U.S. Canada and Africa, and has worked and traveled in more than 55 countries. He and his wife, Jennifer, built websites and ran a successful photography business in Mexico for eight years before returning to the U.S. in 2018.

From 2019 until January 2025, he was the Marketing Manager for M’tucci’s Restaurants in Albuquerque, NM. While there he upgraded and maintained their website, created a YouTube Channel with cooking videos, and wrote a weekly column, La Gazzetta, about M’tucci’s culture and Italian food and travel. M’tucci’s website visits went from 99,000 in 2019 to 359,000 in 2024 and page views increased from 266,000 (2019) to 748,000 in 2024.

Currently, he is working as a freelance photographer, leading food and photography tours in Italy and spending a lot of time in his garden.
